My name is Sophia Adeola,I am a believer and a poet, from Kogi
state. I was born on 5th October in Accompanied by my twin brother Louis Adeola.
I still live in Kaduna with my parents Mr.
and Mrs. Hauwa Adeola and 5 siblings. I must say my childhood was not all rosy.
Some events attended it that almost rendered my social life nonexistent, even
though I was already a taciturn soul with melancholic tendencies. I attended His Majesty nursery and primary
school, but completed my primary learning at ' first Baptist. I had my Secondary
education at Louisiana Academy. I'm currently a final year student at kogi
state university, studying sociology.
I took interest in
sociology being about interpretative understanding of social actions and causal
explanations. Growing up, relating with people was really challenging for me. I
was a victim of false prophecy ( long story, plus wish I knew then the things
that I know now)that encounter robbed me of my teen years, those were formative
years and all that encounter formed were barricades to my self-discovery.
I gave my life to
Christ at age 12 and started writing at 17, didn’t know I had it in me, till I
joined publications unit teens church LFC Kaduna. The unit helped ignite and
harness my passion, while sold out Assembly gave my passion a platform.
To me Poetry is God’s gift; it’s also a form of therapy, an outlet
that lets me share my experiences, the inspirations of the Holy Ghost and my
perspectives about life. It (poetry) augments the world within me, really it
does...
I remember when
poetry became a calling. I'll never forget my youth pastor( Jenom Jaeh
Williams) a life saver, whose impact in my life is one of the reasons why I'm a
better version of myself. Thanks for all the grooming, all the drilling, for all
the times I would slip right back into depression, it was easy cause that was
my comfort zone but you never tired of pulling me out each time with your wise
counsels and all, thank you. (I think we need to pay attention to the people
God sends our way, to human relations, its one important aspect of life, not
just socially)...
When I started writing poetry, I didn't see it achieving the
results it’s achieved now. It’s fulfilling to know my poetry has a hold on
people in a way that isn't just inspiring but life changing. I have had my
share of struggles and insecurities, but I'm really glad I met the Lord at a
young age He's been my rock.
I'll close this
autobiography with an important turning point of my life. The day i realized
that i was my own limitation. If you've ever been or still in a state
characterized by a sense of inadequacy leading to depression, I hope you
realize that God is your sufficiency. He is more than enough. If you're looking
for a clue to the true meaning of life, I hope you know that life is more than
meets the eye. And it takes the eyes of the spirit to read into its true meaning.
In a nutshell it takes God, it takes Jesus, you should get to know Him if you
don't...your life will be fraught with insights it won’t be void of challenges
but you'll have the answer, your life will never remain the same.
